Heatwave to Push West Virginia Temperatures Above 100 Degrees Amid Drought
West Virginia is currently facing the most severe drought conditions in the nation, and according to StormTracker 13 Meteorologists, the situation is expected to worsen.
A powerful heatwave is set to sweep across Appalachia this week, pushing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above average. If Wednesday’s rain doesn’t materialize, some areas could even see temperatures hitting the triple digits.
While temperatures are forecasted to dip below the 90s by the end of the weekend, significant rainfall is still desperately needed to ease the ongoing drought.
